One of OPPO Philippines’ budget offerings has an even more affordable version, and it’s already available for purchase starting today, August 31.

The OPPO A12 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage is now listed at the company’s official store on ecommerce site Shopee. Its suggested retail price? P5,990 (around $124 converted) — or P1,000 ($21) less than the OPPO A12 4GB/64GB model that was silently launched almost two months ago. That’s also the same SRP as the OPPO A12e‘s.

OPPO Philippines announces the availability of the cheaper OPPO A12 variant

Available in frosted silver, blue, and black, the OPPO A12 uses a MediaTek Helio P35, the same chip that powers smartphones such as the OPPO A31. It has two cameras on the back — a 13-megapixel, f/2.2 primary sensor paired with a 2-megapixel depth-sensing one. The selfie camera is 5 megapixels and housed in a waterdop notch at the top center of the handset’s 6.22-inch screen.

Keeping the lights on is a 4,230mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor is located on a rear panel that has a familiar geometric pattern. And its software is still Android 9 layered with ColorOS 6.1.2.

Depending on which findings you believe, OPPO was either the third or fourth smartphone vendor in the Philippines last quarter. Earlier this month, it introduced the OPPO Reno 4 and OPPO Watch to the local market.
