We were skeptical that we’d see a new iPhone SE this 2022, but a recent development now makes us think otherwise. And it looks like there will be a new iPad Air, too.

(Update, March 9: Finally, the new model of the cheapest iPhone is official! Click on this for pricing and other details.)

(Update, February 2: Here’s yet another evidence that the 2022 Apple iPhone SE, iPad Air, and iPad are coming soon!)

An Apple iOS 15 device with model numbers A2595, A2783, and A2784 have been spotted in the Eurasian Economic Commission’s database. The identifiers are almost similar to those of the 2020 iPhone SE, so the spotted handset is believed to be the third-generation SE.

Recent reports claim that the unit is called the Apple iPhone SE+ 5G. It hasn’t supposedly undergone a facelift; the design is still the same as that of the 2020 model (and the iPhone 8 from 2017). However, it’s now powered by — as you can guess from the name — a 5G chip, likely the Apple A14 or A15 Bionic.

Another spotted listing in the EEC database is an iPadOS 15-based device with identifiers A2588, A2589, A2591, A2696, A2757, A2759, A2761, A2766, and A2777. It’s expected to be the 2022 Apple iPad Air. Rumored key specs include an A15 Bionic 5G chipset and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle front-facing camera with support for Center Stage. The last Air tablet debuted in September 2020.

Both the iPhone SE+ 5G and the fifth-generation iPad Air are believed to launch in March or April.
