(Update, October 24: The Vivo Y22s has been launched in the Philippines. Check out the prices, promos, and other details here!)
The Vivo Y22s is confirmed to launch in the Philippines this month. In fact, the product page for the smartphone is already up on the company’s local site, though no price is listed there yet at the time of posting this article. In Vietnam where the handset debuted in August, the version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retails at ₫5,990,000 (around P14,441).
So, what should you expect from the Vivo Y22s? One of the highlights here is its support for Extended RAM 3.0 feature, which converts 8GB of storage into 8GB of virtual RAM. So if the phone has 8GB RAM, you get a total of 16GB dynamic RAM.
The yet-to-be-available device features a 50-megapixel dual camera on the back. And you can just shoot to your heart’s content, as you can still add up to 1TB of extra space.
The Vivo Y22s is powered by a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and relies on a 5,000mAh battery with up to 18-watt fast-charging support. You also get an HD+ waterdrop-style screen that measures 6.55 inches, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a user interface that’s based on Android 12.
There are two colors to choose from — Starlit Blue and Summer Cyan — with the latter looking more interesting, at least based on the images we see online.
There’s no word yet on when exactly the Y22s is going to be rolled out to stores, but we’ll let you know as soon as we get an update from Vivo.
