At the OPPO INNO Day 2022 in China, OPPO launched the latest additions to its foldable lineup. As promised, the OPPO Find N2 and OPPO Find N2 Flip are now official, though only the latter will launch outside of OPPO’s home country.

(Update, March 22, 2023: The OPPO Find N2 Flip is now available in the Philippines!)

That means the successor to the Find N won’t officially arrive in the Philippines and other global markets, just like the first OPPO foldable. Which is a pity because the Find N2 boasts some serious specs, including an improved inner LTPO panel with a 7.1-inch screen size and 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, to go along with 550 nits of peak brightness.

In China, the OPPO Find N2 comes in Black, Cloud White, and Pine Green colors and starts at ¥7,999 (about $1,148 or P64,022 converted) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The OPPO Find N2 Flip, on the other hand, is priced at ¥5,999 ($861 or P48,015) for the base 8GB/256GB config. The 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB cost ¥6,399 ($918 or P51,216) and ¥6,999, ($1,004 or P56,019) respectively. The phone is available in Black, Gold, and Purple color variants.

Both foldable devices are available to order in China from today, with shipping set to start on December 23 for the Find N2 and December 30 for the Find N2 Flip.

OPPO Find N2

The Find N2’s other display is 5.54 inches, slightly larger than what the Find N has, and now supports 120Hz refresh rate instead of the standard 60Hz. The screen is also compatible with the company’s own Pen stylus, offering 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The new hinge, in particular, has been greatly improved, with fewer parts and more materials made of carbon fiber and high-strength alloy to bring the overall weight down and make the crease in the middle of the folding display less visible.

OPPO says the crease on the screen of the Find N2 has been reduced by 67% compared to the original Find N. There’s also an anti-reflection film layered on top of the panel to improve outdoor legibility, while color sensors in the display help make colors look more accurate across a variety of lighting scenarios.

Inside, the OPPO Find N2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 5G chip, instead of the newer and more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, similar to how the original model launched with a Snapdragon 888 SoC inside, as opposed to debuting with Qualcomm’s latest and fastest processor at the time.

As for the Find N2 Flip, it’s the brand’s first clamshell foldable in the mold of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Motorola RAZR 2022. Visually, the OPPO Find N2 Flip stands out with a larger cover display measuring 3.26 inches. This can be used to check notifications, display a QR code, preview the Camera app if you want to take selfies with the main camera, and many more.

The inner panel is an E6 AMOLED from Samsung that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits max brightness. You also get a redesigned drop-shaped hinge, which is certified by TÜV Rheinland for 400,000 times of folding.

Notably, the OPPO Find N2 Flip is the first foldable built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 Plus platform. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of built-in storage. It comes with a 4,300mAh battery as well — the largest in its class — and supports wired fast charging up to 44 watts.

For pictures, the Find N2 Flip sports a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor, Hasselblad image tuning, and OPPO’s MariSilicon X NPU, alongside a dedicated 8-megapixel shooter for landscapes and group shots.
