What to expect from ColorOS 6. The beta is rolling out to OPPO F9 users first

Expect a borderless design that’s meant to be easy on the eyes and with faster, intuitive navigation through menus and settings in mind. Expect 3D animations that create a more interactive virtual experience. Extra gestures to speed up operation, too, like double-tapping the phone screen to enlarge text.

The Game Boost feature in OPPO’s Hyper Boost, which accelerates performance when needed, has been upgraded to version 2.0. The addition of Touch Boost and Frame Boost technologies should enhance game feel and frame rate stability, which OPPO claims will deliver a 38% increase in performance.

There’s Game Space app for customizing game parameters for stuff such as network, power consumption, and messaging. There’s also Game Assistant for providing shortcuts for functions like ‘do not disturb’ and customizable split-screen for a personalized gaming experience.

With ColorOS 6, App Encryption, Private Safe, and Find My Device security features have been incorporated to mitigate the risks of personal data leaks.

Of course, there’s something new for mobile-photography enthusiasts, too. The upgrade introduces Dazzle Color mode and a new portrait style.
