Heads-up, Pocophone hopefuls: Xiaomi Philippines will be having a presale of the Pocophone F1 tomorrow, September 4, at the two Mi Authorized Stores in the country. To be clear, we’re referring to the flagship shop at SM Megamall and the one at the TriNoma mall in Quezon City.

The presale guarantees that customers will be able to get their hands on the first batch of Xiaomi Pocophone F1 units available within the week, provided they pay the full price of P17,990 (around $336) for the unit with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage or P19,990 ($373) for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Each customer will only be allowed to buy one unit of the device.

Xiaomi Philippines also says that working demo phones will be available in the retail locations for those who wish to try out the much-anticipated handset before making the purchase.

This latest development probably won’t affect the official online release of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1, which has been set for September 6 on Lazada Philippines. However, it might sway things for people on the fence about getting the smartphone through the online platform even though the base model will be cheaper there — it will cost P16,990 ($317) — for Lazada’s Super Brand Day.

If you want our advice: Take advantage of the pre-selling to beat the lines outside the physical stores on release day.

And if you’re wondering what the fuss is about, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-equipped device around. Meaning it crams in as much processing muscle (maybe even more, because it’s liquid-cooled) as the most expensive offerings from the biggest names in Android — Google, Samsung, LG, OnePlus, OPPO, to name a few.

Xiaomi also added dual rear cameras to the F1, plus a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging. The notched screen — 6.18 inches diagonally — has a 2,246 x 1,080 resolution at an 18.7:9 aspect ratio.
