It’s official: The Philippines will be one of the first few countries to get Huawei’s most premium P40 model.

According to the company, the Huawei P40 Pro Plus will be available at Globe Telecom and at its official store on ecommerce site Lazada. We’re guessing that Globe will offer the 5G smartphone with postpaid plans. On Lazada, it’s all prepaid units.

This development comes a day after Smart Communications announced that it is accepting preorders for the more affordable Huawei P40 and P40 Pro until June 21.

The Huawei P40 Pro Plus boasts the most impressive camera system of the three members of Huawei’s latest flagship series. Its Ultra Vision Leica Penta Camera is composed of five camera sensors and a color temperature sensor with eight color channels. There’s also optical image stabilization for three of the cameras.

The device can zoom in on objects up to 100x, courtesy of its 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. It shouldn’t have a problem shooting in extremely dark situations, as it can reach ISO 409,600 for stills and ISO 51,200 for videos. And it has useful features like Golden Snap AI Best Moment for automatically detecting shots with your best expression and posture.

We don’t know yet how much this is going to be, but in Europe, where consumer-electronics goods are more expensive, the 8GB RAM/512GB Huawei P40 Pro Plus is priced at €1,399 (around P79,262 or $1,541). Don’t worry, Huawei Philippines has promised to release preorder information and other details soon, so stay tuned.
