Realme Philippines has posted a teaser for a camera-centric smartphone that is said to be coming soon.

And though there’s no mention of the model, the “It’s not always about the number of pixels” line in the trailer could have confirmed the local launch of the Realme 9 Pro Plus in the country. It’s even possible that the non-Plus version will tag along, too. Recall that the technology-lifestyle brand introduced the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro Plus to international markets just last month.

In India, the two smartphones have the following price tags:

  • Realme 9 Pro
    • 6GB/128GB: ₹17,999 (around $237 or P12,242)
    • 8GB/128GB: ₹20,999 ($276 or P14,282)
  • Realme 9 Pro Plus
    • 6GB/128GB: ₹24,999 ($329 or P17,003)
    • 8GB/128GB: ₹26,999 ($355 or P18,363)
    • 8GB/256GB: ₹28,999 ($382 or P19,723)

The Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro Plus are 5G-capable handsets driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 and MediaTek Dimensity 920 platforms, respectively.

The latter also powers the recently launched Vivo V23 5G, which can run most modern games at medium to high graphics settings, including Genshin Impact. The Dimensity 920 5G is likewise one of the fastest chipsets among mid-tier phones, according to the latest Antutu rankings.

On the imaging front, the Plus variant packs a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilization. The flagship-level sensor — which you’ll also find at the back of the Realme GT 2 Pro, OPPO Find X5 series, and Xiaomi 12, to name a few — allows for new and improved shooting modes, particularly in low light.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether we’re correct. If we are, well, we’re hoping to see the color-changing Sunrise Blue version with Realme’s Light Shift Design feature at local retail. It uses fluorite-glass material, giving it the ability to shift from a light-blue shade to a pinkish-red hue when exposed to sunlight and UV light.
