The OPPO Reno8 series is coming to the Philippines next month. No less than OPPO‘s local arm confirmed that its mainstream 5G lineup will launch on September 1.

(Update, August 15: Here’s how much the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G will likely cost in the Philippines!)

The Reno8 range, which comprises the vanilla Reno8 5G and Reno8 Pro 5G, made its global debut in July. Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G, the most affordable model in the range, was released just this August. If history repeats itself, it’s unlikely that the Reno8’s Pro variant will hit local shelves. Last year, OPPO only brought the Reno7 5G and Reno7 Z 5G here.

Launch-date announcement for the Philippine market

It’s also worth mentioning that the Reno8 Pro 5G does not appear on the company’s dedicated local website for the Reno8 series. In all likelihood, the OPPO Reno8 5G and OPPO Reno8 Z 5G will be the only models to get a domestic release, but we can’t be sure until the brand officially unveils the new Reno lineup next month. We wouldn’t hold our collective breath for the Reno8 Pro Plus either, as it appears to be limited to the Chinese market.

The standard Reno8 5G features flagship-grade Sony sensors on the front (IMX709) and back (IMX766) and is powered by a capable MediaTek Dimensity 1300 with high-end Mali-G77 graphics, which can run demanding games at high settings. It also features a 4,500mAh battery that can charge up to an incredible 80 watts using the included power brick. Other highlights include a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and an embedded fingerprint reader for convenient unlocking.

The Reno8 Z 5G, on the other hand, debuts a tweaked design and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor paired with a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen and a triple-camera array on the back headlined by a 64-megapixel image sensor. To keep the lights on, the Reno8 Z 5G is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports OPPO’s 33-watt SuperVOOC standard.

Both devices use 6nm chipsets for better efficiency and boot ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 out the box.
