There’s no doubt now that there is indeed a Vivo S7t 5G, as it has already appeared on the site of Chinese telecommunications company China Telecom. Even better, the listing comes with images and specs of the phone.

(Update, 7:30 p.m.: We’ve changed the title of this article from Vivo S7t 5G specs, images spotted on telco site in China to Vivo S7t 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 820 official in China. Everything we wrote a few hours ago — including the price — is correct, as now seen at the official Vivo store on JD.)

The posting gives credence to a previous report saying that the Vivo S7t 5G will be launched soon with a design that is similar to that of the S7, also known as the Vivo V20 Pro 5G in the Philippines. And it seems that the specs of the two smartphones are the same as well — except that the upcoming model will be powered by a different chip.

According to the listing, the S7t uses a MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC. Recognize it? As we shared in the Best-performing flagship, midrange phones: Jan 2021, China edition story we posted the other day, February 2, it’s currently the best-performing midrange chipset on the Antutu Benchmark platform. Its highest average score went past the 400,000 mark, while the highest average rating of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G — the chip in the S7 — barely made it to 350,000.

Vivo S7t 5G 8GB/128GB listings on several e-commerce sites in China, such as this one on JD, show a ¥2,598 (around P19,335 or $402 converted) suggested retail price. That SRP is not confirmed yet, but we think it’s the real deal. Anyhow, we’re leaving you with the specs of the Vivo S7 5G here just for reference while we await the handset’s arrival.
