(Update, August 17: Read this good news: Redmi 9C pricing for the Philippine market revealed.)
According to the product page we at Revü found on Shopee’s website, the Redmi handset will be available in the country from August 17 at exactly 11:59 p.m. It will be part of Xiaomi’s 10th anniversary promotion scheduled for August 18 on the online store, along with other devices such as the Mi TV Stick. While the page remains live, the listing is now hidden.
If you’re not familiar, the Redmi 9C is one of the first devices equipped with the latest MediaTek Helio G35 processor. It’s also the second G35-based phone on the local market after the Realme C11.
Besides a Helio G35 SoC, there’s also a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD as well as triple rear cameras. The main sensor is 13 megapixels, while the secondary cameras are purpose-built for macro and portrait shots. The triple-camera setup is a notable upgrade from the Redmi 9A’s single rear shooter. The front-facing camera pairs a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 lens.
And like most other recent releases from the brand, the Redmi 9C features a massive 5,000mAh battery inside for better mileage on a single charge. Speaking of, the phone is bundled with a 10-watt power brick and a microUSB cable.
The Redmi 9C is priced at RM429 in Malaysia. That translates to around P4,998 in Philippine pesos and $102 in U.S. dollars converted. Our guess is that the Redmi 9C will cost between P4,990 ($102) and P5,490 ($112) in the Philippines for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. As always, keep those fingers crossed for a lower price.
