Finally, more than two months after the Xiaomi Mi 9T — the international variant of the Redmi K20 — was launched, the Pro model has become official.

(Update, September 4: We have the local prices and availability! See Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is cheapest Snapdragon 855 phone in PH.)

(Update, August 27: And here’s another sign! Look: Spotted: Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro official Lazada PH listing?)

The debut of the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, or what is known as the Redmi K20 Pro in China and India, was first confirmed by Xiaomi Netherlands. And there are strong indications that it will arrive in the Philippines soon.

First, some authorized Mi dealers in the country have started teasing the smartphone. One example is Tekpone Davao. Second — and certainly the strongest of them all — is the global account of Xiaomi posting this on Facebook.

Xiaomi Global’s Mi 9T Pro-related post mentions the Philippines

While it doesn’t explicitly say that the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro will be launching in the Philippines, the post implies it, with those based here (and France and Poland) to visit the Mi Store and join the #TakeMiOn challenge.

The company has not revealed the mechanics of the contest at the time of publishing this article, though, so we’ll have to wait for those.

How much will it cost in the Philippines? In the Netherlands, the Mi 9T Pro 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB variants are priced at €429 (around P24,847 or $476) and €479 (P27,742 or $532), respectively.

But the phone should be cheaper locally, considering the high duties and taxes in Europe. For reference, the higher-specced Xiaomi Mi 9 with the same memory configurations is currently retailing at P21,990 ($421) and P23,990 ($460).
