Lazada has just wrapped up its Bounce Back Sale, called as such because it’s the online ecommerce platform’s first sale event after COVID-19-related lockdown measures have been eased in many parts of the Philippines.

While it’s officially called Lazada Philippines 6.6 Bounce Back Sale, the event actually started June 4 and ended yesterday, June 6. Now guess which companies made it to the top 5 bestselling smartphone brands during the period. And which topped them all.

Yes, Xiaomi once again got the crown, with the newly launched Redmi Note 9 series and Mi Note 10 Lite making a killing during the sale, according to country marketing manager Ava Castillo. The Redmi 8A, however, is its fastest-selling phone.

The Note lineup is composed of the Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi Note 9 Pro and are successors to the popular Redmi Note 8 series. The latter went on to sell 10 million units in just three months. We already have a Redmi Note 9 Pro gaming test posted a week ago; our full review should be up soon.

Hot on the heels of Xiaomi is Realme, the offshoot brand of OPPO and is the fastest-growing smartphone vendor worldwide and in Southeast Asia. In the Philippines, it just released the Realme 6i, Realme 6, and Realme 6 Pro.

These two — Xiaomi and Realme — have a reputation of offering decently-specced-yet-affordable products.

Rounding out the top 5 list are Huawei, Samsung, and OPPO, which all came out with new devices as well. Huawei launched the Huawei Y6p and Huawei Y5p; Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy M31; and OPPO, the OPPO Reno 3 and OPPO Reno 3 Pro.
