The global rankings of best-performing Android smartphones in August 2020 are finally out, a few days after Antutu Benchmark revealed the lists for devices released in China.
Top 10: Midrange Android smartphones
While the Chinese mid-level ranking last month was dominated by Kirin-powered units from Huawei and Honor, this list was full of handsets using Qualcomm’s processors. Seven of the 10, in particular.
The top two — OnePlus Nord and Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G — have Snapdragon 765G system-on-chips inside. Sixth to ninth placers Realme 6 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9S, and OPPO Reno 4 4G all carry Snapdragon 720G. Occupying the 10th spot was the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro, which is powered by Snapdragon 730G.
Top 10: Flagship Android smartphones
Just like its predecessor, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 flexed its muscles this time around, thanks to a slightly better Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. We can attest to how powerful the device is, as can be seen here: Watch: We play 16 games on the ASUS ROG Phone 3 gaming phone.
The other six flagship handsets on Antutu’s August list have Qualcomm chipsets, too. We’re talking about second to seventh placers OnePlus 8 Pro, OPPO Find X2 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Redmi K30 Pro, POCO F2 Pro, and Mi 10. Take note that the Samsung Galaxy unit mentioned here is the version with Snapdragon 865 Plus.
